New Release and Giveaway : Can't Fight This Feeling by Miranda Liasson

Can't Fight This Feeling (Spikonos Brothers Book 2)
by Miranda Liasson

SHE WANTS TO MOVE ON...WITH SOMEONE BLAND AND BORING...
Widowed psychologist Maggie McShae is ready to find someone who won't make her heart beat fast, her knees grow weak, or make her feel hot and cold at the same time. No one she can really love, because love brings too much pain.
Drew Poulos, son of a billionaire, is hiding out in Mirror Lake, working at his brothers' brandy company. He inspires those very feelings Maggie's determined to avoid. The hunky businessman, who left his high society bride at the altar, is the last person she'd ever seriously date...but he might just be perfect for a fling...
HE NEEDS A DATE FOR HIS BROTHER'S WEDDING...WITH SOMEONE WHO CAN CALM HIS QUIRKY FAMILY...
Drew's too heartbroken to ever trust any woman again, but the sexy psychologist is the perfect person to deflect his family's attention as his brother marries the woman Drew once thought was his.
As sparks fly, two injured hearts might just find that true love can be even better the second time around....

EXCERPT
He gripped her head firmly with both hands and pulled it toward him, then planted a kiss tenderly on her forehead. “Don’t be afraid,” he said in a low, calming voice that touched her to the core. Still cupping her face with his hands, he looked deeply into her eyes and said, “I want us to try, Maggie. To have a real relationship. To go wherever it is you’re willing to go.” He smiled. “Besides, I can’t resist a girl who reads Harlan Coben.”
“I do James Patterson too. And Tess Gerritsen. And John Grisham.”
“Now you’re really turning me on.” He reached out and kissed her firmly, possessively. In a way that stamped her as his. Then he pulled back a little and scanned her face, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Don’t go out with the fireman anymore.”
“Okay,” she whispered.
And he kissed her once more. Slow and gently, his lips barely grazing hers. Angling his face better over hers, he brought their lips flush in a deep, sensual kiss. She didn’t realize it, but she’d been waiting for this, missing it since the first time they’d made love. Despite the sudden shakiness she felt down to her bones, despite the fact that she was scared out of her ever-loving mind, nothing had ever felt so damn good.
“Maggie,” he said, stroking her cheek and looking into her eyes. “I never felt this way about anyone. But I need us to promise to be honest with each other. No matter how difficult it is.”
“Okay,” she murmured, barely able to concentrate. “I’ll be more honest. Your dog is spoiled. And by the way—what, may I ask, is she doing in my dog’s bed?”
“They worked it out. So maybe we can too.”
Suddenly he was pushing against her, toppling the both of them to the couch, kissing her deep and hard and wet, until her toes curled and every sensible thought flew far away. She had the vague impression of popcorn spilling, but it didn’t really register. Because his delicious weight was on top of her, and she couldn’t get enough of him, of his good clean smell, of his magical lips, of his hands, roving all over, sliding over the hot skin beneath her shirt.

Can't Fight This Feeling is the second book of the Spikonos Brothers and can be read as a standalone.

Wow, a beautiful love story between two people who had a rough past in their lives.

Maggie had a wonderful marriage, until her husband (Corey) died of cancer, leaving her and her son alone. Now it's over 3 yrs since his passing and she decides she needs to move on, but can she. She is very protective of her son, Griffin and doesn't know how to take the first step to get back in the game.

Drew who left his fiancée at the altar and has come to Mirror Lake to hide for the public. He overhears Maggie on the phone trying to get laid and tries to give her advice. But he doesn't want her to date anyone, so he decides to take her to his brother's wedding, so maybe he can satisfy that itch he has for her.

What he doesn't tell Maggie is that his brother's fiancée, Sondra and him was in a long staying relationship until she betrayed him. Does Drew still want Sondra and how does that affect Maggie's growing feelings for him?

I was taken on a journey of self discovery and romance in a small town of Mirror Lake. Watching two people for different backgrounds fall in love and become one was beautiful.

Miranda writing style is full of love, humor and enjoyment and you won't want to put her books down. Miranda writes a sweet love story with a touch of spice.

I highly recommend this book and all of the Mirror Lake books she has written.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

GIVEAWAY

Author

I’m an author of contemporary romance,  represented by Jill Marsal of the Marsal Lyon Literary Agency.
In 2013, I won Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart Award® for a story that became This Thing Called Love, my first novel, a small town romance that’s heartwarming, a bit funny, and a little sexy. The Golden Heart contest changed my life forever and put me on the rollercoaster ride of being a published author. Luckily, the name of that first book got changed. The initial title was Baby on Board! Help!, a title my husband thought of minutes before I had to hit the Send button. Imagine that name being called out in front of 2000 people at the National Romance Writers of America conference. Yeah.
I also write the same kinds of stories for Entangled Indulgence–the Indulgence line is  stories about wealthy alpha guys and the women that tame them…except my alphas have definitely got a softer side to them.
In 2018, I’ll be publishing with Grand Central’s Forever Romance line. I’m very excited about that!
I write romance because I love stories about the experience of being human, and love is the universal experience we all share. I also love stories that have happy endings and make me laugh. I hope my stories make you laugh a little, too.
For about five years before writing contemporary romance, I wrote Regency and early Victorian historical romance (those stories are still under my bed and probably will be forever, as there’s a reason they weren’t published) and I still love to read historical romance. I hold a masters degree in Literature and read widely across many genres. I love Jane Austen and am a total John Keats fan girl!  I always have multiple books going at once and almost never go anywhere without one. My favorite books are ones that hit you right in the heart. And have happy endings. And make me laugh. Sad book, unhappy ending–um, no thanks. Well, maybe for good discussion purposes. Maybe.
I am a proud member of my local RWA chapter, the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Romance Writers of America, which mentored me on my journey as a writer. I live in Northeast Ohio with my husband and three kids, and Posey, a rescue cat with more attitude than my kids, who are all in college or grad school now!
If I’m not writing or reading, I’m probably biking in our beautiful Northern Ohio MetroParks, or watching The Bachelor with my girlfriends (and complaining about what a trashy show it is, lol!).
Thanks for stopping by and I’d love to hear from you! You can use my contact page and please feel free to follow me on Facebook or Twitter. I hang out daily on my Facebook Author Page and do frequent giveaways there. Don’t forget to sign up for my Newsletter if you want to know when the next book is coming!
